What you’ll do:

Primary responsibility of this role is Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) of GEIS products that will penetrate the national and international markets. This position responsibilities entails the identification and execution of cost savings initiatives through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE). 
It also requires to have strong communication skills, drive, strong engineering acumen with enthusiasm in the product design arena. 
Ensure product compliance to global design standards like IEC,UL,NEMA or any other compliance standard.
Has the good understanding about the Hazardous Locations standard requirement
Complete system / component sizing, designing , simulation and testing activities to meet power distribution and controls panel requirements
Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process"



"• Work in multiple programs/projects related to Value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) to achieve the business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
• Own end to end cost out projects including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of products.
• Contribute to Conduct workshops to identify cost out opportunities and evaluate those
• Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions required for project execution.
• Designs, validates and releases system, sub-system and components independently as well as through team of engineers. Creates CAD drawings- detailing, 3D models, Assemblies etc. and ensure release in PLM / ERP system per project plan.
• Contribute to create test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Create test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions discussing with Leads.
• Contribute with leads to Create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts / ideas and drive innovation from ideation through to execution.Understands project management process and tools required for planning, efforts estimation and other quality management processes as required for achieving the project deliverables.



Qualifications:
  • BE / M.tech - Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-6 yrs. Product Design 
  • PLM Experience is needed
  • VAVE is good to have
  • GD&T expereince is needed.

Skills:

1. Sound technical knowledge and experience in design and development of Mechanical products like sheet metal products (preferred), cast/machined products, plastic products and relevant product standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
2. Experience must include hands on experience with product cost out from concept to commercialization including and not limited to part detailing and designing, component and material selection, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts, prototyping and validation
3.Proven track record of successful cost out project completion, realized cost out and intellectual property generation.
4.Analytical skills must include understanding component design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient/ergonomic methods of assembly, Design calculations.
5. Should be proficient with GD&T, Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFMA, UL/IEC certification
6. Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD, Solid works, SAP.
7.Understanding of GEIS Industrial products would be an added advantage
