Job description

As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in providing service support for projects, DTD, MRO, and post‑sales activities—while also developing service business and spare parts sales in the region. This role is structured as 70% Service Support and 30% Service Sales. This role will be based in Kolkata / Tatanagar.


In this role, you will:


  • Respond to all customer service and sales inquiries within 24 hours with a clear, actionable plan.
  • Ensure service quality, compliance, and adherence to HSE standards.
  • Generate service and spare parts inquiries, prepare quotations, and meet Order Received (OR) and Net Sales targets.
  • Promote Service Agreements (AMCs) and service solutions to strengthen customer partnerships.
  • Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of Control Valves, On-Off Valves, and ESD Valves.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, overhauling of valves, actuators, smart devices, and related accessories.
  • Conduct Installed Base Audits and maintain accurate customer asset records.
  • Handle customer complaints and warranty cases with professionalism and ownership.
  • Prepare timesheets, service call documentation, and contribute to weekly/monthly management reports.
  • Support shutdown maintenance activities across major refineries and oil & gas operations.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting assistance during urgent customer situations.

Expectations & Qualifications:


  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in valve servicing and/or service sales within process automation.
  • Hands-on on-site maintenance experience (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Exposure to industries such as Oil & Gas, Industrial Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper, Fertilizer, or Steel Plants.
  • Experience with PSA/ASU plants, shutdown services, and all types of valves (Control, On-Off, ESD).
  • Familiarity with smart products and advanced diagnostics (preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general computer applications.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70% of the time).
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to prepare reports, business communication, and procedure documents effectively.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization.
