Alteryx is building the next generation of cloud-native analytics, and Live Query is at the heart of that vision.We are looking for a seasoned tech lead or early-career engineering manager to lead one of the most impactful teams in our Cloud Engines group. This team owns the core execution layer that powers Alteryx Analytics Cloud — enabling interactive, scalable analytics directly on modern cloud data platforms.

In this role, you will help shape and deliver Alteryx Live Query, Alteryx for GCP, and other top-priority strategic initiatives. Your work will directly influence how customers experience analytics on cloud data warehouses, at scale, in real time.

• Own and evolve the core execution layer for Alteryx Analytics Cloud, with a strong focus on Live Query–driven workloads
• Build systems that enable interactive, low-latency analytics on cloud data platforms
• Lead delivery of strategic cloud initiatives, including Alteryx Live Query, Alteryx for GCP, and future cloud integrations
• Act as a technical and architectural thought leader within the Cloud Engines group
• Work closely with Product, Architecture, Platform, and peer Engineering teams to shape roadmap and execution
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented backend and distributed systems engineers
• Balance hands-on technical leadership with people management in a techno-managerial role
• Drive execution across 1–2 parallel initiatives, owning outcomes end-to-end
• Represent your team in engineering, planning, and release forums
• Play a pivotal role in delivering mission-critical roadmap items that impact the broader Alteryx platform
• Create an environment that attracts, retains, and develops high-performing engineers.

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, owning systems from design to production
• 4+ years building or operating scalable, distributed data processing systems
• Strong backend technical leadership experience using Go, Java, Scala, or similar technologies
• Proven system design skills for high-performance, reliable, cloud-native microservices
• A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and bias toward action
• 1–2 years of experience leading or managing a team of 3–5 engineers
• Experience driving projects with multiple stakeholders across engineering, product, UX, and QA
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with globally distributed teams
• Ability to operate independently with deep technical judgment and domain ownership.
