The Global Finance Shared Services (FSS) is a finance function designed to bring together finance and accounting professionals to streamline and enhance processes and tools. Within FSS, the Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Pune, India, provides centralized financial and analytical support across all Wolters Kluwer divisions. The team, comprising finance professionals and data scientists, focuses on finance reporting harmonization, technology enablement, and reporting and analytics enhancements.


In this role, you would support the Financial Shared Services (FSS) team with reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while driving process improvements and strategic initiatives. You’d collaborate with finance leaders to enhance performance, provide insights across customer lifecycle processes, and develop revenue models to identify risks and opportunities. Additionally, you'd manage financial planning, reporting, and long-term strategy, with a strong focus on revenue and key performance metrics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


Education :


  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or data analytics
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree/MBA in finance, accounting, economics, or data analysis

Experience :


  • Minimum: 6 months to 1 year of experience in a finance, accounting, or consulting role
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a finance, accounting, or consulting role

Technical Skills :


  • Proficient in handling large datasets and data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas (Nested IF Conditions, LOOKUP Functions, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS).
  • Skilled in financial analysis, forecasting, and business performance modelling.
  • Experienced in KPI development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, JD Edwards); experience with Tagetik, Power BI is a plus.
  • Financial decision support and reporting, including cash flow, P&L, and ad hoc reports.
  • Expert in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Financial Reporting & Analysis:


  • Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret financial data to support business decision-making.
  • Support month-end close activities, including preliminary reporting, accurate financial closure, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze, track, and report on assigned costs and revenues against planning and forecasting benchmarks.
  • Conduct cost-per-unit analysis to evaluate and optimize operational expenses.
  • Provide insights into key business metrics across multiple functional areas.

Forecasting & Budgeting:


  • Lead or assist in corporate forecasting processes, including annual budgeting and long-range planning.
  • Develop and maintain forecast models using historical trends, vendor data, and volume metrics.
  • Monitor actuals versus forecasts and identify key variances and trends.

Revenue & Volume Management:


  • Analyze and monitor revenue streams across customer segments and product lines.
  • Support pricing strategies and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Understand volume impacts due to customer behavior and seasonal trends.
  • Identify correlations between volume and variable costs, including temporary help and overtime.

System & Process Improvement:


  • Assist in financial system transitions by understanding current tools and supporting migration to new platforms.
  • Drive efficiencies in data collection and improve spreadsheet structures and update processes.
  • Contribute to identifying business unit opportunities and new workflows for performance enhancement.

Communication & Professionalism:


  • Communicate effectively across formats and audiences, including high-level documentation.
  • Uphold corporate values, maintain professionalism, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Execute various ad-hoc financial and analytical projects as assigned by management.

OTHER DUTIES


  • Expert in SQL queries with a solid understanding of databases and data structures.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions (nested IFs, INDEX/MATCH, macros) for large datasets.
  • Familiar with Hyperion and Microsoft Access; experience with Power BI/Tableau is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools and techniques such as SAS/R, Python, time series, and regression analysis.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to evolving roles and undefined processes.
  • Flexible in adjusting communication and detail levels based on audience needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of drafting high-level documents with precision.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


Minimal travel might be required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Working from the Kalyani Nagar, Pune office on a hybrid schedule (Mondays and Tuesdays).
