Position Summary
As the Fixed Assets Manager at NIQ, you will oversee the management and governance of the Fixed Assets process within the Global Finance Operations. Your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of Fixed Assets accounting and reporting across various systems and processes. This role demands strong leadership abilities, meticulous attention to detail, data mining capabilities and a capacity to drive significant process improvements and standardization across the organization.
The candidate will work closely with various teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of Fixed Assets activities, including Fixed Assets documentation.
Key Responsibilities -
- Oversight of Fixed Assets Transactions:
- Ensure all Fixed Assets transactions (e.g., purchases/capitalization and disposal) are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
- Review overall Fixed assets numbers and open items in SAP and ensure those are reported correctly into the consolidation system.
- Reconciliation and Out-of-Balance Resolution:
- Review and reconcile Fixed Assets balances on a regular basis to ensure accounts are aligned across entities.
- Review the trend analysis for fixed assets movements and ensure proper commentaries/justification are given for significant movements.
- Review of Intercompany App Development Transfers:
- Oversee the fixed assets app development cost transfers between different business units, ensuring costs are appropriately allocated.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to streamline and document these transfers effectively.
- Process Standardization and Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Fixed Assets accounting processes, aiming to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Standardize processes across regions, ensuring consistency in handling Fixed Assets transactions.
- Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with various departments (e.g., FP&A, tax, audit, Business Finance and Global COE) to ensure smooth Fixed Assets operations and address complex issues.
- Serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to Fixed Assets transactions.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements related to Fixed Assets transactions.
- Lead the preparation and submission of reports required for statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain general financial accounting related internal controls within the region; ensure robust account reconciliations and SOX compliance.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of Fixed Assets accountants, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment focused on achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
- Fixed Assets Audit Support:
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations related to Fixed Assets transactions and processes.
- Work with audit teams to address findings and implement recommended improvements.
- Project Leadership:
- Lead projects related to Fixed Assets process and migrations ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to financial processes.
- Provide support for Corporate and global projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CA preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years focusing on Fixed Assets transactions.
- Strong understanding of Fixed Assets accounting, lease accounting and project accounting.
- Experience with multinational organizations and familiarity with complex Fixed Assets structures.
- Proficient in SAP ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with demonstrated experience in managing Fixed Assets accounting and reconciliations.
- Proven track record of process improvement and automation in Fixed Assets functions.
