Role description:


This role exists to provide assistance to the General Accounting Business Partner in overseeing the regulatory compliance of assigned country. Responsible to ensure that the underlying company policies and procedures, comply with the various regulatory laws and standards including tax, corporate, bank and insurance requirements. This role helps monitor compliance of all accounting related activities for the country to avoid exposure primarily related to taxes. The Regional Finance Team will maintain ownership of execution and implementation of the company policies e.g. Treasury and Accounts Payable related policies are coordinated with ICA to ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled.


Role accountabilities:


  • Monitor period-end closing activities for India and BV such as true-up computation, income and deferred tax accrual computation and posting, and BS reconciliation. 
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual computation and filing of tax returns such as TDS and VAT for IN. 
  • Annual filing of Income Tax return based on audited FS for IN. 
  • Prepare manual invoices for statutory purposes to ensure compliance with applicable IN tax laws. 
  • Monitor IN compliance requirements related to LEI, STPI returns, SEZ returns, RBI returns and ROC filings. 
  •  Prepare tax data tool for IN and BV to provide Group Tax with complete information of relative tax computation and possible exposure. 
  • Compile supporting documents for submission to satisfy audit inquiries by IN tax authorities. 
  • Manage complete resolution of income tax notices from IN tax authorities by close coordination and providing full cooperation during the audit process. 
  • IN internal audit preparation and timely coordination with different accounting functions for the audit requirements.
  • File application for GST and SEIS refunds to IN tax authorities. 
  • Prepare TB, provide supporting schedules, and close coordination with all the accounting functions to provide external auditor’s requirements for the annual FS audit with a goal to finish the audit before the set deadline. 
  • Provide necessary training to GSSC AP to familiarize the team with IN tax rules related to invoice processing. 
  • Monitor AP entries related to correct application of TDS rates to avoid incorrect remittance of taxes.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Significant professional experience (7 years or more) in finance and preferably with strong tax/compliance background 
  • Experience of working in a medium/large organization in a compliance related role 
  • Good time management skills and keen to details 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Proactive and can work independently 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 
  • Able to build and manage stakeholder relationships 
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions 
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills 
  • Culturally adoptive 
  • Well-developed verbal and written English 
  • Excel & ERP proficient will be a plus
