Position Summary: The Innovation & Process Excellence Lead for the Global Content Hub (GCH) at LCCI will provide strategic insights and drive innovation and operational excellence for the GCH organization. This role will support senior leadership with effective decision-making, project management, and execution of strategic initiatives across all capabilities of GCH at LCCI. The role is also responsible for streamlining high-importance projects and conducting leadership level internal and external initiatives that have significant impact on the function’s business objectives.


The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. This role will engage with both medical and commercial leadership to implement their respective global content strategies for content execution.


As a strategic leader across both domains, the role will drive synergies, streamline operations, and deliver integrated solutions that align with corporate objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership


  • Lead development, communication, and implementation of transformation and strategic planning to deliver on business goal and objectives
  • Lead innovation and drive process and operational excellence by owning critical initiatives and strategic projects
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators, regularly evaluating progress with the leadership team to ensure continuous improvement
  • Utilize technology to standardize and automate processes, ensuring quality, speed, value, and compliance
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and process excellence initiatives
  • Anticipate and resolve operational challenges, identifying opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Deeply integrate within GCH and assess and address issues that hinder maximum organizational effectiveness
  • Promote shared consciousness and information flow: Act as a key enabler, ensuring the right stakeholders are included at the right time and equipped with the necessary information for decision-making
  • Help leadership foster an agile organization that continuously meets the needs of the business portfolio
  • Lead communication efforts on GCH operational execution to respective medical and commercial teams and across teams/functions, as appropriate
  • Prepare and drive quarterly business reviews for reviewing key performance indicators of the function
  • Own and Review Internal and External Communications: Draft newsletters, reports, pitch decks, and presentations that support awareness and connectivity through GCH, LCCI and global teams

Project Management & Leadership


  • Oversee large projects or initiatives, bringing together multiple stakeholders and driving decisions
  • Capture and apply learnings from each implementation to evolve the approach to managing new businesses and projects
  • Communicate with business partners on project progress and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement communication frameworks to ensure clear, consistent, and efficient project management and stakeholder engagement
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities as appropriate for respective medical and commercial teams, providing strategic insights to senior leadership to drive decision-making and optimize business outcomes
  • Champion organizational change management (OCM)
  • Influence without authority through relationship building, demonstrated expertise, and high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Build connections with GCH leadership team and others across the organization to influence outcomes, enable team success and foster long-term partnerships that are critical to organizational success
  • Help leadership align the GCH culture strategy and objectives to the Team Lilly framework, including well-being, engagement, recognition, diversity and inclusion, and employee experience

Continuous Improvement & Innovation


  • Foster an environment that embraces innovation, shared learning, and strategic process enhancements to drive continuous improvement across commercial and medical teams
  • Lead initiatives to optimize operations through data-driven decision-making, leveraging insights and metrics to inform the respective medical and commercial strategies
  • Stay current with industry trends in Medical and Commercial domains, ensuring teams are well-positioned to adopt new capabilities, technologies, and methodologies
  • Act as a change agent, promoting out-of-the-box thinking and enabling incremental and transformational innovations that lead to operational efficiencies and improved outcomes

Operational Management


  • Create, own, and manage productivity, utilization, and headcount trackers
  • Work with leadership to create effective competency models across roles in GCH
  • Serve as a key liaison between Commercial, Global Medical Affairs, LCCI, and other internal partners, ensuring operational alignment across multiple stakeholders
  • Oversee the meeting cadence for the senior leadership team, ensuring materials are sent in advance, meeting time is focused on business-critical priorities, and follow-up actions are achieved
  • Plan and lead townhalls, functional retreats, and other special events
  • Ensure alignment between business planning and operations

Minimum Qualification Requirements:


  • Postgraduate degree (MBA/MSc/MPharm) or adequate professional experience to meet the above deliverables
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in marketing operations
  • Strong project management background and experience
  • Knowledge of pharma marketing operations capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and effectiveness in the areas of influence, team leadership, articulating and taking a position, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Consistent and demonstrated integrity, engagement and commitment
  • Effective negotiation skills; has the resilience to deal with adversity and pressure while staying composed and adapting to the environment and situation when necessary
  • Experience working in a highly productive, fast-paced environment, ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with all audiences and forums through strong oral and written communication
  • High levels of sustained solutioning and relentless problem-solving ability

Additional Preferences:


  • 5 years’ experience leading others, including relationship and team building, setting expectations, holding others accountable, and technical coaching
  • Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and active listening
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Six Sigma experience
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in an international matrix environment, with a strong ability to influence others
  • Expertise in industry standards, best practices, compliance issues, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate compliance requirements for promotional and non-promotional materials
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, negotiation/influence/motivation, project management, and critical thinking skills with the ability to use effectively in a team, cross-functional setting, and global environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including building professional networks with diverse groups of individuals and working effectively within geographically dispersed teams and partners
  • Strong passion for capability development; experience working within integrated/shared work environments
  • Ability to influence beyond organizational boundaries to drive decisions and results
  • Experience managing business plans, budgeting, and capacity resourcing
  • Experience in digital tools and multimedia
  • Experience in the global environment and an appreciation for global DEI
