This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 1 years Location: Chandigarh JobType: full-time The Interior Architect will act as a critical link between architectural design, interior planning, and on-site execution.
This role involves shaping cohesive, high-quality residential interiors that remain faithful to the original design intent while being practical for real-world use.
You will work closely with clients, vendors, site teams, and the Principal Architect to ensure seamless delivery across all stages of the project.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Development & Presentations Develop interior design concepts for residential spaces including living areas, dining rooms, bedrooms, and ancillary spaces, aligned with the architectural vision.
Create mood boards, colour schemes, and material palettes, and prepare clear, client-ready presentation decks.
Propose multiple design options for key decisions and recommend a well-reasoned final direction.
Detailing & Documentation Prepare and maintain interior drawings using AutoCAD, including layouts, elevations, and essential furniture details.
Develop and update detailed selection schedules that can be directly executed on site.
Ensure all drawings and schedules reflect approved decisions, with strong version control and documentation discipline.
Client Interaction & Selections Lead furniture, finishes, lighting, and material selection sessions with clients, both in the studio and at vendor showrooms.
Clearly communicate design intent, trade-offs, durability, and maintenance considerations.
Manage interactions with premium and high-profile clients with professionalism, empathy, and confidence.
Vendor & Material Coordination Coordinate with vendors to source samples, obtain quotations, and confirm timelines.
Build and maintain an organized library of materials, finishes, and fabric samples.
Finalize selections with vendors and track changes through execution.
Internal Coordination & Site Support Share finalized design decisions with internal teams and site supervisors in a timely manner.
Address site queries through drawings, mark-ups, or written clarifications.
Proactively identify design or execution conflicts and collaborate with the Principal Architect to resolve them.
Required Skills Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for interior layouts, elevations, and detailing.
Ability to create clean, structured presentations using PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar tools.
Basic image-editing skills for mood boards and visual collages.
Strong understanding of proportion, scale, colour, and materiality in residential interiors.
Working Style & Professional Attributes Genuine interest in how people live and interact with their homes, beyond surface-level styling.
Clear, courteous communication skills in both Hindi and English.
Professional grooming and presence suitable for frequent client interaction.
Comfort working closely with a Principal Architect in a feedback-driven, fast-iteration environment.
Strong ownership, reliability, and attention to detail in tracking and executing decisions.
Experience & Education 1–5 years of professional experience in an interior design or architecture studio.
Mandatory experience working on premium or luxury residential interiors beyond academic projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a recognized institution.
