Job Summary



Caterpillar is seeking an IT Analyst Applications (.NET) join Applications Development & Intelligence Automation -CAT IT Division.



The incumbent would assist shaping the direction and strategy for .NET development within the Caterpillar enterprise. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter capable of thinking with an enterprise perspective while still being flexible enough to keep the business running. Tasks range from assisting, coaching, and mentoring .NET developers with development and architectural issues, to evaluating and implementing new technologies in .NET. 




The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN



What you will do



  • Performing code reviews of applications to help ensure code quality before deployment
  • Assisting developers in integrating applications with Caterpillar systems
  • Supporting projects to migrate from legacy components to supported .NET technology
  • Creating and refining policies to ensure effective and secure .NET development within Caterpillar
  • Coaching and communicating information to Caterpillar’s .NET development community
  • Participating on special projects as a .NET Subject Matter Expert
  • Researching future .NET related products/versions
  • Leading/participating on teams that define .NET strategy
  • Assess identified security vulnerabilities and work with security, infra teams and apps teams to remediate them
  • Level 3 assistance to operations

 What you will have 



  • Ability to work well with a geographically distributed team
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them with an enterprise perspective
  • Ability to act in a self-directed manner, independently researching tools/libraries/technologies or solving a problem with minimal oversight and instructions
  • Web development experience with ASP.NET MVC with C# in an enterprise setting
  • Excellent communication skills (in English) to persuade others to use recommended practices and technologies
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, DevOps tools and processes
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, Windows PowerShell
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 / IIS configuration/operations
  • Familiarity with two or more of Databases - SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, etc.,
  • Experience with Entity Framework
  • Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts as it pertains to ASP.NET hosting (Load balancing, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.).
  • Strong technical problem solving skills
  • Firm understanding of modern ASP.NET security threats and security best practices
  • Expert in the .NET platform and Visual Studio
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office
  • Shift Timing: 01:00PM -10:00PM IST

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with ITSM processes
  • Experience with SonarQube, Artifactory, Node Package Manager (npm), Docker containers
  • Experience with performing code reviews

• Supports the project leader in developing and executing system test plans.
• Evaluates system documentation and user manuals for usability, accuracy and completeness.
• Executes test cases, analyzes test results and reports on findings regularly.
