We’re seeking someone to join our FRPPE team as a Technical Lead implementing large-scale transaction handling applications, preferably on Azure/Cloud

This is a Lead Software Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs..


About Super Department:


Operations Technology is responsible for building and operating the technology platform catering to critical business processes at Morgan Stanley including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. The Firm operates at scale with up to 60 million trades processed on peak volume days and several trillion dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.


What you'll do in the role: 


  • We are looking for a Senior Technical developer, preferably with exposure to Cloud Architectures & public cloud offerings.


  • You will be part of a squad that understands business requirements from the users for each of the markets and contribute to the strategic Settlements platform build out as well as leverage the foundational technical components and applying customizations and testing.


  • If you have a track record of implementing large-scale transaction handling applications, preferably on Azure/Cloud, we’d like to meet you.


What you'll bring to the role:


  • At least 6 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role


  • Hands-on experience in working in software development.


  • At least 3 years of experience of distributed transactional systems.


  • Excellent working knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot & Middleware (Messaging – MQ/Kafka).


  • Sound understanding of observability, scalability and performance, resiliency.


  • Understanding of Azure Cloud-based application development & modern DevOps.


  • Understanding of Azure SQL server databases


  • Experience of Agile development practices.


  • Prior experience in FinTech application development and understanding of Trade Lifecycle.


  • Exposure to working in a global delivery team.


  • Experience of leading and mentoring developers.
