Java Developer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 1700000 (ie INR 10-17 LPA) Min Experience: 4 years Location: Bengaluru JobType: full-time We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, high-performance, and reliable backend systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java-based application development , Spring Boot , microservices architecture , event-driven systems using Kafka , and cloud-native technologies .
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern distributed systems that power critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot Build and manage microservices-based architectures , ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance Develop and integrate event-driven and asynchronous systems using Apache Kafka Collaborate with product managers, architects, and frontend teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices Participate in system design discussions , architecture reviews, and code reviews Optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure high availability Deploy, monitor, and manage applications in cloud environments Ensure security, logging, monitoring, and observability standards are met Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement Required Skills & Qualifications 4–10 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java Strong expertise in Spring Boot , including REST APIs, dependency injection, and configuration management Solid understanding of microservices architecture , including service discovery, API gateways, and inter-service communication Practical experience with Apache Kafka for messaging, streaming, and event-driven systems Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Good knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines , containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes is a plus) Strong understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns, and system design principles Experience with version control systems like Git Good to Have Exposure to distributed system challenges such as scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency Experience with monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and performance tuning Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and microservices environments
