This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 5 years Location: Bangalore JobType: full-time As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of systems while enabling faster and safer deployments.
You will also guide junior DevOps engineers and help establish best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, reliable, and fast deployments Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-optimized infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Own infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform or similar frameworks Collaborate with development teams to streamline build, test, release, and deployment workflows Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management Implement and enforce DevOps best practices related to security, scalability, and performance Manage containerized workloads using Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes (GKE preferred) Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers, including team members with limited experience, through reviews, guidance, and hands-on support Drive continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure automation, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical leadership across projects Required Skills & Qualifications 5–10 years of overall experience in DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering roles Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, etc.
) Proven expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and cloud security best practices Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, or equivalent Ability to lead DevOps initiatives and mentor engineers with varying experience levels Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset Good to Have Experience in high-availability, production-grade systems Exposure to cost optimization and performance tuning on GCP Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python
