About the position:
Lead Wireless Engineer – (Industrial)
Position Summary
The Industrial Lead Wireless Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting advanced wired and wireless network solutions for industrial facilities. This role focuses on Aruba’s wireless, Cisco Industrial switching & Cambium (or Equivalent) , PTP/PTMP backhaul, communication technologies. The engineer will provide expert-level Wireless design, troubleshoot mission‑critical networks, and ensure secure, reliable communication across industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Aruba, Cambium (Or Equivalent) Wireless & Wired Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage Aruba wireless networks including Aruba AP‑5xx series (indoor/outdoor) and Aruba mesh/industrial Wi‑Fi solutions.
- Design, deploy, and manage Cambium (or Equivalent) Access points for P2P and P2MP Deployments and should have experience in PMP 450i, Cn-Wave Radios and Cn-Maestro
- Configure and optimize Aruba Central, including monitoring, AIOps-driven insights, firmware management, and multi-site orchestration.
- Administer Aruba AirWave for large‑scale industrial monitoring, RF heatmaps, performance analytics, and capacity planning.
- Drive Wi‑Fi optimization using Aruba tools: ClientMatch, ARM, AirMatch, RFProtect, Adaptive Radio Management.
- Should have used AirMagmet/Ekahau or Equivalent for Wireless Site Survey
RF Transport & Industrial Connectivity
- Design and support Cambium or Equivalent Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) RF systems (Aviat, Cambium, Aruba outdoor mesh).
- Engineer long‑range industrial backhaul links, tower‑mounted APs, and rugged wireless systems.
- Provide RF modeling, link budget analysis, antenna selection, propagation analysis, and interference mitigation.
- Support deployment of LoRaWAN gateways.
Network Engineering & Core Infrastructure
- Architect reliable IP transport across industrial sites using Aruba wired/wireless technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues using packet captures, RF tools, spectrum analysis, and Aruba utilities.
- Implement VLAN segmentation.
- Ensure optimal network performance using Aruba Central Insight, AirWave reports, Syslog/SNMP monitoring, and proactive tuning.
Security & Access Control
- Implement and support Aruba ClearPass for Network Access Control (NAC):
- Authentication & authorization (802.1X, MACAuth, Guest)
- Enforcement policies for industrial devices
- Profiling OT/IoT endpoints
- Good to have experience in security management with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama for secure remote access and segmentation.
Automation & Tools
- Develop basic automation scripts in Python for configuration, monitoring, or simple workflows.
- Utilize APIs for Aruba Central or ArubaCX automation when needed.
- Maintain awareness of network monitoring tools and best practices for industrial uptime.
Collaboration & Process
- Work closely with cross-functional OT, IT, Automation, and Industrial Controls teams.
- Support change management, documentation, and project execution for multi-site deployments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in network engineering and wireless communications within industrial/energy/O&G environments.
- Advanced proficiency in English (written & verbal).
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
Required Certifications (Aruba Focus)
- One or more Aruba certifications:
- ACMA, ACSA, ACCA, ACCP
- ACMP / ACMX
- Aruba Certified Edge Professional / Expert
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Azure Cloud
- ServiceNow
- Azure DevOps
- Ansible
- API integration
- Python
- Demonstrated ability in structured problem solving, debugging, and technical leadership in high‑pressure environment
