We’re looking for an Engineering Manager – Web Technology to lead a talented team of engineers who are shaping next-generation travel intelligence platforms.
About the Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing software engineers. You’ll drive technical excellence, oversee end-to-end project delivery, and create an environment where engineers thrive.
You’ll partner closely with product, architecture, QA, and SRE teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality products—helping Amadeus continue to lead the Travel & Hospitality technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of software engineers focused on web and middleware development.
Drive team performance through coaching, regular feedback, and career development plans.
Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of technical initiatives and product commitments.
Manage agile processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product goals, architecture, and timelines.
Ensure engineering best practices in design, coding, testing, and deployment.
Recruit, onboard, and retain world-class engineering talent.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and culture.
Monitor and improve product quality, scalability, security, and performance.
Participate in the incident management on-call rotation and work with SRE teams to meet reliability SLAs.
Define and track quarterly OKRs and Engineering KPIs.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of total experience, with 2+ years in engineering management or team leadership.
Strong background in web technologies and frontend frameworks such as React and Angular.
Hands-on experience in Python middleware programming.
Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployments.
Experience with observability and CI/CD tools like Splunk, Datadog, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Couchbase).
Solid understanding of Agile methodology and sprint-based delivery.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to drive technical direction while managing people, processes, and performance.
Nice to Have
Experience in Travel & Hospitality domain software.
Familiarity with SQL, Oracle, or Couchbase backend systems.
Exposure to modern frontend architectures like Vue.js or Micro Frontends (MFE).
Prior experience in a product-based or enterprise SaaS company.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
