Job Description

The Manager - Direct Tax Compliance profile is highly specialized, focusing on ensuring strict adherence to tax regulations and managing end-to-end direct tax compliance.


Primary Responsibilities:
Corporate Income Tax Compliance
1. Filing of Corporate Tax Returns:
Preparation and filing for both local and foreign group entities.
Ensuring accurate and timely filing in compliance with local and international regulations.


2. Tax Payments and Reconciliations:
Monthly payment of TDS/TCS after reconciling with internal records.
Calculation and timely payment of quarterly advance taxes.


3. Quarterly and Annual Reporting:
Tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for quarterly/annual reports (Limited Review and Year-End Closures).
Reporting of Effective Tax Rate (ETR) and short-term/long-term tax provisions.


Audits and Coordination
1. Audit Management:
Managing Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing Audit end-to-end.
Coordination with auditors (Statutory, Tax, and Transfer Pricing) for data sharing and issue resolution.


2. Data Preparation:
Compiling information from cross-functional teams for audits.
Ensuring readiness of data/documents for scrutiny assessments, statutory audits, and related processes.


3. Scrutiny and Assessments:
Providing data and support for scrutiny assessments (TDS, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing).
Liaison with the Global Tax Team for assessments, appeals, and court cases.


Transfer Pricing Compliance
1. Documentation and Reporting:
Preparing and reviewing international transactions with associated enterprises.
Ensuring compliance with CBC (Country-by-Country) reporting norms.
Reviewing and filing of Form 3CEB and other Transfer Pricing documentation.


2. Audit Support:
Compilation of data for scrutiny assessments and assisting in appeals or court-related processes.


3. Coordination with Global Teams:
Regular communication with global counterparts for compliance and audit requirements.


Key Skills Required:
• Strong knowledge of Direct Tax Laws, Transfer Pricing Regulations, and Tax Accounting Standards.
• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks (e.g., OECD BEPS, CBC Reporting).
• Proficiency in tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and effective tax rate analysis.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, statutory authorities, and auditors.
• Skilled in managing relationships with global counterparts.
• Expertise in tax compliance tools and ERP systems like SAP, Tally, or specialized tax software.
This role demands a combination of technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, and collaborative abilities to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with direct tax obligations.
