Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Network Engineer to join the State Street Network Engineering team. The successful candidate will assist in managing and maintaining our IT network infrastructure while ensuring the effective tracking, management, and optimization of IT assets across the organization. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a global organization and develop network and security skills in support of the next generation data center and cloud network architectures. Ideal candidates will have basic network and security experience and be highly motivated to expand their knowledge in networking, public cloud, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Evaluate network device configurations to ensure compliance to standards
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
- Track asset life cycles, including acquisition, deployment, usage, and disposal.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of asset records and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT asset management policies and procedures.
- Generate reports on asset utilization, depreciation, and compliance as needed.
- Ensure all asset management records are up-to-date and accessible
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for IT asset management and network security.
- Implement and adhere to data protection and privacy policies.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in the following areas:-
- Basic Cisco routing and switching experience (CCNA level)
- Understanding of network fundamentals, including network design, firewalls, load balancers and DNS.
- Familiarity with CMDB inventory management tools.
- Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Associates degree or equivalent desired
- Total 5+ years of experience , with at least 1-3 years experience in the network field
- Certification in a major technology area preferred (CCNA or equivalent preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure when resolving complex issues with strict deadlines
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the team members and superiors
