Description About The Role
The Optimizely Developer II is a self-driven, hands-on developer responsible for building high-quality Optimizely solutions with minimal technical supervision. This role is ideal for a growing Optimizely professional who can independently execute assigned tasks, contribute solid code, and actively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

You will work closely with Solution Architects, Senior Developers, QA, and client-side technical teams to implement, enhance, and maintain Optimizely-based CMS and Commerce solutions while continuing to grow your technical depth and delivery ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Development & Technical Execution
  • Implement Optimizely CMS and/or Commerce features in accordance with functional and technical requirements.
  • Deliver clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that aligns with Optimizely best practices and project standards.
  • Independently execute development tasks with minimal guidance, escalating risks or blockers proactively.
  • Participate in code reviews—both receiving and providing feedback—to improve solution quality.
Task Ownership & Estimation Growth
  • Take ownership of assigned work items from development through completion and validation.
  • Demonstrate growing accuracy in estimating development effort and complexity for assigned tasks.
  • Identify technical dependencies, edge cases, and potential risks early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Continuously improve delivery predictability through learning and experience.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, senior developers, QA, and project managers.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and technical clarifications clearly within the team.
  • Interact with external technical stakeholders (client developers, IT teams) when required, under architect or lead guidance.
  • Translate technical requirements into working solutions aligned with business needs.
Learning, Growth & Best Practices
  • Actively build expertise in Optimizely CMS, Commerce, and related tools and integrations.
  • Stay up to date with Optimizely platform updates, development patterns, and emerging best practices.
  • Seek feedback and mentorship to strengthen technical, estimation, and communication skills.
  • Contribute to shared knowledge, documentation, and reusable components
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of progressive experience as a software developer, with hands-on Optimizely experience.
  • Working experience with Optimizely CMS (v12 or SaaS); Commerce experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and web development fundamentals.
  • Experience with integrations using REST APIs and basic headless or decoupled architectures.
  • Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks with minimal technical direction.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-Have
  • Optimizely certifications (CMS Developer preferred).
