Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Excellent Database performance troubleshooting skill on a rigorous production systems during Major outages.
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software (versions 12c, 19c, or later).
Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools to analyze and enhance database performance.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to storage, memory, and CPU utilization.
Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
Perform audits to ensure adherence to organizational security policies and standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues such as connectivity, performance, and data corruption.
Provide support for database operations across development, testing, and production environments.
Act as the primary point of contact for database incidents and outages.
Collaborate with developers to design efficient database structures and optimize integration with applications.
Assist in developing stored procedures, triggers, and views for application requirements.
Set up and manage monitoring tools for database health, performance, and capacity planning.
Automate routine maintenance tasks using shell scripts or automation tools like Ansible & terraform code.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Prepare and deliver regular reports on database health, performance, and capacity utilization.
Mentor DBAs and provide technical leadership.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
12+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA along excellent performance troubleshooting skills critical production databases.
Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, including RAC, ASM, OGG and Data Guard.
Collaboration with Global stake holders
Very strong expertise in Oracle Performance tuning in the event of Major outages.
Extensive experience database performance troubleshooting to identify the bottlenecks.
Knowledge of partitioning, materialized views, and advanced indexing strategies.
Solid understanding of database security, auditing, and encryption practices.
Desirable
Experience with Oracle running on Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
Relevant certifications such as Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) are highly desirable.
