The Role


As a Principal Instrumentation Engineer with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc….


  • Perform Conceptual, FeasibilityStudy,FEEDand Detaileddesign asper Basis of Design,project specification, design codes & standards for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Prepare discipline Engineering basis of design, philosophies and technical specification as required.
  • Attend project review meeting, vendor meeting, client meetings, plan and manages the workwith the ability to handle teams of minimum 5+ Engineers and designers.
  • Leadership skills in Engineering with ability to handle complex projects.
  • Guide and assist team in selection of field instruments to the application specific, Control Valves,Shutdown valves, MOVs, Blowdown valves, PRV, PCV, bulk materials.
  • Prepare and review of basic instrument documents like field instrument datasheets, specifications, instrument index, Input/Output list, Level sketches, Alarm & trip schedule etc.
  • Lead the discipline Engineering design and key instrument documents like Control and Safetysystem specification, Control and Safety system modification SOW, Instrument Specification for Package equipment, Cause & Effect diagram, Functional logic diagram, Control Narrative etc.
  • Preparation of procurement deliverables – Material Requisition and Technical Bid Evaluation forprocurement of field instruments, Mechanical Package instruments and Control & Safety systems.
  • Contribute and assist design team by providing required inputs to enable them to proceed with their deliverables like Instrument cable block diagram, Cable schedule, Instrument locationlayout, Control room layout, Instrument wiring diagram, Loop diagram, Process/Pneumatic hook-up diagram, MCT layout diagram, Cable routing and trench layout, System Architecture drawing etc.
  • Should be aware of engineering interfaces related to various packages.
  • Participate in design reviews, Technical Peer Reviews, 3D models reviews and check isometrics.
  • Participate in risk & safety reviews like HAZOP, CHAZOP, SIL etc; implement and close actionitems related to instrumentation.
  • Inter-discipline review of other discipline deliverables like P&ID, Plot-plan, Piping GA drawings,
  • Equipment layouts, SLD, HVAC duct layouts, HAC drawings etc.
  • Proficient to Proposal Activities-Review of project scope, issue technical clarification, preparationof list of activities/deliverables, estimation of man-hours, preparation of method statement, DOR, Scope split matrix, SOW for third party services, input to cost estimate etc.
  • Issue Technical Query to Client for the Technical Deviation, issue of internal change request(ICN), issue of Design change note (DCN), response to site technical queries.

About You


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Minimum 15 to 20 Years of Experience is needed
  • Should be specialized in Detailed Design Engineering and from Oil & Gas Industry (Onshore & Offshore)
