Principal Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

• Maintenance and Reliability Solution (MRS) function executes projects with SoW involving creation/enhancement/review of maintenance concepts, programs, and strategies as well as CMMS system implementation/upgrades for installations within O&G (Oil & Gas) and other industries.
• This position is part of MRS function. The purpose of the position is to deliver routine/Complex MRS assignments under nil supervision and coach or mentor team members.

ESSENTIAL

• Prepare and maintain asset hierarchies to ensure structured and efficient asset management.
• Perform criticality assessments and develop equipment strategies/maintenance plans for various systems and equipment, considering Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and OEM recommendations
• Carry out development & implementation of specific maintenance concepts, programs, and strategies for Onshore and Offshore oil & gas installations
• Perform studies and assignments involving Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) modeling
• Read, interpret, and analyze engineering documentation including Single Line Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Cause & Effect Charts, and other related technical drawings.
• Provide expertise in ensuring the effective input, validation, structuring, and ongoing management of maintenance and asset data within the CMMS, maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy and compliance with client-specific requirements and industry best practices
• Evaluation, verification, and optimization of spare parts
• Review and provide technical oversight for work carried out by junior or entry-level engineers, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
• Support the Line Manager in achieving KPI deliverables, ensuring performance targets, reporting requirements, and service-level commitments are met.
• Contribute to the effective management of the Oceaneering contract, providing assurance on technical delivery, quality of outputs, cost control, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to bids, proposals, and marketing materials for global operations and support business development efforts with prospective clients.

NON-ESSENTIAL

• The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post
• Assist with any other duties as and when required
• Undertake specific projects as instructed by management

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical /Electrical Engineering)
• Minimum 10 years of oil and gas / Petrochemical / Refinery field experience

DESIRED

• Professional certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) will be considered an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Minimum 10 years of broad work experience as a mechanical engineer in Oil & gas, refining, petrochemical industry or in a consulting role in a reputable organization
• Hands on experience in SAP PM, experience in SAP-S4-Hana would be an advantage.
• Hands on experience in GE-Meridium/other APM software is desirable
• Proficient in data collection and analysis with common database and software data analysis tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Familiarity with QA/QC systems/procedures and CMMS Systems
• Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal
• Good client or support contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures
