Job description

Summary:


Work as a senior member of a Perf Engg scrum team to assess and analyze performance of Charles River’s products. Identify potential bottlenecks and come up with possible recommendations. Provide support and assistance to customers and other teams within Charles River.


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Product Owners, Scrum Teams, Implementation Teams or Professional Services to understand the Non-Functional Requirements of product/ projects


  • Create and maintain functionality within Performance Test Frameworks


  • Create comprehensive Performance test plans from Non-functional Requirements


  • Create and execute automated performance tests


  • Create, organize and maintain Test Artifacts


  • Analyze test results to identify potential bottlenecks


  • Spin up and tear down Test Environments as and when required


  • Document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team members


  • Adhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product delivery


  • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives


  • Participate in Cross Functional Team activities as needed


Qualifications:


Education:


B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.


Experience:


  • 10-12 years of experience in Performance Test Engineering in a process driven technology environment on Cloud based infrastructure


  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications


  • Extensive experience with Performance Testing Tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad or equivalent)


  • Extensive experience with APM/ Observability Tools (Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics etc)


  • Extensive experience with bottleneck analysis


  • Experience with C#, Java, SQL, Powershell and Bash


  • Familiar with Windows OS


  • Good to have experience in one or more industry standard profiling tools.


  • Good to have Dev Ops skills – e.g. Python, knowledge of different Cloud Platforms, CICD Tools (Jenkins, TeamCity or equivalent),


  • Git/Github


  • Demonstrated experience implementing and executing performance testing against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applications.


  • Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive non-functional and technical test plans


  • Knowledge in Financial Services a plus


  • A minimum of 5 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desired


  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
