Overview
In addition to our traditional payments portfolio, Mastercard is aggressively expanding into new payment flow and leveraging the digital and connected world of people and economies to deliver faster, reliable and more efficient propositions to make payments – send or receive money.
The Cross Border program is part of the wider Disbursement & Remittances business that we are looking to expand at a compounded rate of 50% per year for the next 5 years. We are building solutions to enable payments in an any-to-any format – anyone, anywhere can send or receive money using any channel – money exchanges, banks, digital wallets, cards or fintech apps – providing a seamless and unified experience for both individuals and business to move money.
We are looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced engineers with a proven track record in leading the evolution of software products and their implementation in various markets – comfortable both working hands-on as well as guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and critically always challenging the status quo and pushing and driving the technology roadmap to ensure that the solutions leverage technology to the maximum extent
Role
What’s it all about and what do we expect you to do day to day
- Technology leader who is hands-on and expected to actively contribute in solution design reviews, low level design and reviews, coding, peer reviews, coaching engineers on the team.
- Work with business/product owners to architect and deliver on new services to introduce new products and bundles
- Incorporate high-availability and system resiliency into your solutions to maximize up-time and capacity
- Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
- Provide strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
- Take ownership to improve the customer experience of an entire set of services/applications sold as products or bundled services
- Take a business-value driven approach to all technology decisions while driving adoption of new technologies and capabilities within the program.
- Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate engineering excellence
- Venture beyond comfort zone to take on assignments across different areas of Software Engineering
- Mentor and guide software engineers and leads in the team to improve engineering productivity, quality, and technology policy compliance
About You:
- Hands-on experience in designing solutions and full stack development in modern technologies for large enterprise technology platforms and systems.
- Strong knowledge of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience in different architecture patterns – REST architectures, Event-driven architectures and a deep understanding of microservices and domain-driven principles
- Has experience designing and implementing solutions focusing on the non-functional concerns – Performance, Scalability, Availability, Extensibility, Supportability, Usability
- Operate with urgency, fairness and decency to address challenges and solve for new opportunities.
- Capable of working under pressure – navigating complex initiatives, competing priorities and customer requirements.
- Strong communicator to maintain internal and external alignment.
- Experienced in agile and SDLC practices
- Strong understanding of the Payment domain with focus on ISO 20022 A2A payment standards
- Technical Skills - Java and Spring (preferably Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), relational database & no-SQL etc. e.g(MySQL, Postgres, Elastic etc), experience implementing APIs and SDKs, expert in distributed computing, implementing scalable and resilient solutions
