Role description: The Senior Manager – MEP will lead MEP design, coordination, and project management activities for major international construction projects.
This role is part of the Design Assurance & Value Engineering (DA&VE) team within the Client’s Centre of Excellence (COE) Team and is responsible for ensuring designs align with client briefs, project goals, and industry standards, while driving innovation and sustainability across all MEP services.
The position demands technical oversight, strong stakeholder engagement, and effective contribution to project delivery within a global, multidisciplinary environment.
This role will be providing services on a variety of large programs being undertaken globally.
Accordingly, this role must be prepared to work hours appropriate to a global delivery model.
Role accountabilities: Design Coordination & Discipline Integration: Review and validate MEP designs, drawings, and calculations to ensure alignment with the client brief while coordinating with architectural and structural disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure seamless system integration.
Techno-Commercial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive techno-commercial evaluations of MEP schemes and innovative technologies, ensuring that all adopted strategies are cost-effective, high-performing, and aligned with the project's commercial design intent.
Strategic Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical link between client teams, consultants, and senior management, translating complex technical MEP concepts into transparent project updates and actionable insights.
Value Engineering & Sustainability Innovation: Drive value engineering initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and integrate sustainable design principles, energy-efficient measures, and smart building technologies across all MEP systems.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance: Oversee the integrity of technical specifications within tender documentation and ensure all designs comply with international building codes, safety regulations, and professional ethical standards.
Commissioning Strategy & Handover: Lead the commissioning, testing, and verification process of MEP systems to ensure peak performance and manage the successful handover of documentation and system designs to the Capital Management team.
Project Governance & Risk Mitigation: Manage the flow of technical information between external contractors and internal teams, while contributing to the project risk register to identify and mitigate potential MEP-related operational challenges.
Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering is the minimum educational requirement.
A minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in MEP design , coordination , project management and Commissioning management .
Experience working on the client side, or within a consultancy role, managing the client's interests and acting as their representative, is highly valued.
Demonstrating a strong understanding of MEP systems (High side & low side) , including HVAC , Electrical , Firefighting , IBMS and plumbing systems, along with a deep familiarity with relevant international building codes , standards , and regulations , is essential.
A good grasp of the construction process , including site issues, coordination with contractors, and installation oversight, is crucial.
