Role description: The Senior Project Controls Manager – MEP will lead the planning, development, and delivery of project control processes for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) elements across capital projects.
This role is part of the Project Controls Team within the Centre of Excellence (COE) team and ensures alignment with project objectives, global and regional standards, and drives the adoption of best practices in cost management, process optimization, and quality assurance.
This role will be required to work hours appropriate to a global service delivery model supporting the team working on a variety of global projects.
Role accountabilities: Regional & COE Liaison: Act as the primary interface between the COE and Regional Capital Management teams to align project deliverables and timelines, ensuring strict adherence to Stage Gate policies and procedures.
MEP Technical Governance: Lead the technical peer review of MEP deliverables—including cost estimates, contracts, and change orders—to ensure compliance with regional codes and provide independent cost verification.
Commercial Risk & Gap Analysis: Evaluate MEP design information at each Stage Gate against the approved Business Case to identify budget gaps and assess the impact of global construction trends (inflation, commodity prices, and new technologies).
Standardization & Tool Development: Drive the development and continuous update of the COE’s standard MEP Project Controls tools, templates, and Quality Assurance processes to improve global governance and commercial efficiency.
Strategic Capital Planning: Partner with Capital Management and RE Strategy teams to provide accurate data and technical insights for quarterly and annual capital planning, procurement strategies, and P&L evaluations.
Team Leadership & Talent Development: Manage and mentor a reporting team by driving talent development, succession planning, and a culture of continuous improvement to enhance operational effectiveness.
Performance & Operational Management: Facilitate team meetings to cascade leadership objectives, troubleshoot operational challenges, and provide regular performance updates and innovative solutions to COE Leadership.
Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ElectricalEngineering , Quantity Surveying .
10 to 12 years of experience in delivering end-to-end MEP cost management , quantity surveying services for Real Estate projects ( Office fit-outs , Investment Banking and Financial Institution experience preferable ).
Strong experience in pre-contract ( cost planning, benchmarking, design validation, risk management ) and post-contract ( change control management, cost reporting, final accounts ) stages of MEP services of Real Estate projects.
Experience working in a global organization or COE or PMO (prior experience of working on Owner’s side is preferable).
Knowledge of global construction / engineering practices , trends and cost indices .
Proven experience of managing MEP team spread across 2-3 regions.
Strong ability to manage cross-functional collaboration and senior stakeholder engagement.
