This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 1500000 (ie INR 10 - 15 LPA) Min Experience: 6 years Location: Nasik JobType: full-time The Purchase Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for civil and infrastructure construction projects.
The role ensures uninterrupted material availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with project specifications, contractual terms, and internal procurement policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing Plan and manage procurement activities for civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, buildings, and utilities.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
Obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.
Ensure timely procurement aligned with construction schedules and project execution plans.
Vendor & Contract Management Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions with vendors and suppliers.
Develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers.
Address and resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, shortages, and contractual disputes.
Cost Control & Budgeting Ensure all procurement activities adhere to approved project budgets.
Track market trends, price movements, and availability of key construction materials.
Prepare procurement cost reports, savings analysis, and variance reports.
Coordination & Compliance Work closely with project management, planning, QA/QC, stores, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement execution.
Ensure all procured materials meet approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
Maintain complete procurement documentation and support internal and external audits.
Inventory & Logistics Coordinate material planning, inventory control, and site requirements with stores and site teams.
Monitor material deliveries, inspections, storage, and consumption to minimize losses and shortages.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Contracts Management is preferred.
Experience 8–15 years of experience in procurement within the civil and infrastructure construction sector.
Strong exposure to large-scale construction projects and bulk material procurement.
