Seeking an enthusiastic engineer to join the NIC software test team responsible for maintaining and enhancing test automation framework on multiple product lines in our test organization.
This diverse role is central to the team’s operations, and includes elements of software development, system administration, and test automation.
Candidates with strengths in the following areas are strongly preferred:
Python Development, git/gerrit/Jenkins administration, Linux system administration & test automation framework. Exposure to server hardware, networking protocols, and mixed hardware/software environments is beneficial.
The candidate must have hands-on experience in Python programming and or bash scripting.
A strong understanding of the Layer2 functionality, TCP/IP networking, Virtualization technologies, VM management, DPDK and RDMA would also be an added benefit.
Primary responsibilities include:
Design, develop and maintain automation in our build, test and release automation infrastructure using Python, bash, make, etc.
Testing NIC controllers for L2 features, good knowledge of TCP/IP stack, network virtualization and RDMA.
Support and expand test infrastructure to ensure quality firmware and driver delivery to the organization and to customers.
Prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks, projects & releases.
Reviews of design and functional specifications created by the development team to understand product functionality.
Qualifications:
Bachelors/Masters of Engineering with a 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience
Extensive experience in the development of automation scripts in Python – primarily network and system level programming using Python and/or bash development.
git, gerrit and Jenkins or similar experience preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills & debugging skills.
Possess excellent communication skills and need to be a critical thinker and a self-starter.
Experience testing NIC controller for L2 features, good knowledge of TCP/IP stack.
Excellent knowledge in at least one of the server OSes (Windows, Linux, ESXi).
Understanding of OS fundamentals, services and configurations. Hands-on experience with OS specific tests for network controllers, servers platforms.
Experience with network test equipment is an added plus– Protocol/PCIe Analyzers, Protocol Jammers, Load Generators (iPerf, Ixia, Medusa tools etc).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks, and projects.
