The Big Data Service (BDS) team under Oracle Analytics has a charter to offer a managed, cloud-native Big Data Service focused on large-scale data processing and analytics on unstructured data stored in data lakes, and management of the data in data lakes. The service work scope encompasses not just good integration with OCI’s native infrastructure (security, cloud, storage, etc.) but also deep integration with other relevant cloud native services in OCI (like Oracle Kubernetes, Data Catalog, ADW, etc.).   https://www.oracle.com/big-data/big-data-service/ 



 
We need a highly talented Technical Program Manager for the BDS team to help drive customer requests (internal and external), planning, day-to-day execution, as well as drive various central programs at the wider organization level.  



The role comes with a high degree of personal accountability and autonomy and will require effective engagement across all cross-organizational functions to deliver results. 



You should have a strong multidisciplinary operations, technology, and business background. You should also have a track record of influencing and presenting to senior business and technology leaders and driving critical delivery initiatives at the highest levels. Strong executive communications, customer engagement, and business analytics skills are essential.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.  

  • Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands.  

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business need with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.  

  • Strong experience of software development process models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment. 

  • Strong skills to evaluate product performance metrics, as well as diagnose and resolve issues.  

  • Experience with technical design discussions and ability to summarize complex trade-offs and options in presentation and technical documentation. 

  • Ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership. 

  • Aptitude to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.  

  • Experience in analyzing complex customer contracts to obtain a complete understanding of terms related to cloud infrastructure. 

  • Work as a lead contributor individually, and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others as needed/requested. 

  • Drive other obligations management duties, as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications:  



  • 6+ years of experience as hands-on technical project / program manager; preferably in a related industry. 

  • Advanced knowledge of the full life cycle of software development and experience managing cloud services 

Preferred Qualifications:  



  • 10+ years of project management, product design or related experience  

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience (MS Preferred) 

  • Experience of Big Data Services is a plus.
