Senior Software Engineer – Networking & Web (Cisco Meraki) | React, JavaScript / TypeScript | 8 to 12 Years

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cisco Meraki Switching Cloud Dashboard team, you will design and build network-centric workflows and user experiences that directly impact how customers operate and scale their networks. This role is exciting because it combines strong networking fundamentals with hands-on web application development, allowing you to solve real-world networking challenges through elegant, high-quality user interfaces.

• Design and build network-centric workflows and user experiences for IT professionals using the Cisco Switching Cloud Dashboard.
• Apply strong networking fundamentals to design, implement, and troubleshoot features that interact with switching, routing, and network telemetry systems.
• Collaborate closely with networking engineers, backend engineers, product managers, and UX designers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Solve scalability, reliability, and performance challenges to support a rapidly growing user base while maintaining high availability.
• Translate complex network state, configuration, and operational data into clear, usable, and reliable web interfaces.

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including strong hands-on experience with React or modern web frameworks.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts, and understanding of common LAN and WAN protocols.
• Experience building production-grade web applications that consume APIs and represent complex, real-time, or asynchronous data.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end development practices.
• Ability to reason about network behavior, latency, failures, and data consistency when designing user-facing features.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong experience in the networking domain, particularly switching and Layer 2 technologies.
• Experience working on network management, observability, or control-plane systems.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience contributing to large-scale, cloud-managed platforms or distributed systems.

• Ability and willingness to work on proof-of-concept spikes and exploratory engineering efforts.
• Experience translating complex technical networking concepts into intuitive user experiences.
