As a Beta Test Manager, your core mission is to strengthen product quality by running an effective global alpha and beta testing program. You will actively engage and manage a diverse alpha and beta tester community, transforming real-world feedback into clear, actionable insights for engineering teams. By combining technical understanding, structured analysis, and strong communication, you will continuously improve the alpha and beta program and help deliver more reliable broadband solutions to market.



Responsibilities:
  • Own and execute the end-to-end beta testing lifecycle, including tester recruitment, onboarding, active testing, feedback collection, and device return.
  • Actively engage and manage a global beta tester community, ensuring high participation, timely feedback, and sustained engagement throughout the test cycle.
  • Analyse issues reported during beta testing and perform first-level triage to identify whether problems are hardware-related or software/cloud-related before escalation.
  • Translate non-technical or ambiguous user feedback into clear, actionable defect reports for engineering and product teams.
  • Maintain structured documentation of tester profiles, environments, configurations, and reported issues using tools such as AirTable, Excel, or Confluence.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and product teams to prioritize beta findings and validate fixes in subsequent test cycles.
  • Define, refine, and enforce beta testing processes to continuously improve program effectiveness, coverage, and quality outcomes.
  • Track beta test progress, analyze trends, and provide regular status updates and insights to stakeholders.
  • Drive incremental improvements to the beta program based on lessons learned, feedback quality, and product needs.
  • Design and maintain cloud dashboards to monitor Beta user performance, continuously analyse logs and metrics to proactively identify anomalies, initiate remediation actions, and provide clear, data-driven insights to the Engineering team.
  • Automate the troubleshooting/diagnostics of the end user network using Python.

Qualifications:

You have:


  • Graduate or Master in engineering with 10-15 years of relevant experience in test automation, preferably in the broadband or networking products sector.


    Technical Skills


  • Strong understanding of home networking technologies, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi standards (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7), mesh networking, and CPE interaction with cloud-based management platforms. Knowledge of TR-069 / TR-369 (USP) will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to perform first-level technical analysis and identify whether issues are likely related to device hardware or software/cloud components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot the reported issues. Experience interpreting basic device logs, understanding network topologies, and accurately documenting tester environments and setups.


    Beta Testing & Quality Experience


  • Hands-on experience managing or contributing to alpha testing, beta testing, field testing, or large-scale user testing programs.
  • Strong ability to analyse real-world user feedback and convert it into clear, actionable insights for engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with structured testing processes and continuous improvement practices.


    Operational & Process Skills


  • High proficiency in creating and maintaining structured documentation and databases using tools such as Air Table, Excel, or Confluence.
  • Ability to define and enforce the end-to-end alpha/beta lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to active testing and device retrieval.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.


    Communication & Community Engagement


  • Recruitment Strategy: Capability to identify and recruit the right mix of alpha and beta testers (e.g., finding edge-cases, specific ISPs, or heavy-usage households) rather than just general users.
  • Technical Translation: Excellent written communication skills to translate vague feedback from non-technical beta testers into clear, actionable bug reports for the engineering team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience when working with diverse user groups.
  • Tools & Platforms

Experience using Jira or similar issue-tracking systems to log, track, and report defects.
