Software Development Engineer II (Backend)

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Location: Gurgaon JobType: full-time As an SDE II – Backend, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling backend systems and internal platforms.
You will take ownership of end-to-end features, contribute to core infrastructure reliability, and develop tools that improve operational efficiency in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and enhance backend services for new and existing features.
Own backend components from concept, design, and implementation through deployment and maintenance.
Build internal tools and platforms to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across the backend infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.
Required Skills & Experience Strong proficiency in backend development using Node.
js (JavaScript) and/or Python .
Solid understanding of data architecture , system design, and software engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB and NoSQL data modeling.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development in Linux environments .
Practical experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .
Proven experience working in startup or fast-paced environments , with the ability to handle ambiguity and deliver results.
Nice to Have Experience with Docker , Nginx , and Redis .
Exposure to handling large-scale datasets and performance optimization.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools .
