The Developer Productivity & Efficiency Engineering team is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to join our mission of revolutionizing developer experience across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
Identify, prioritize, and solve critical developer pain points by investing in and developing innovative products that:
Improve engineering efficiency and reduce toil
Boost developer productivity through intelligent automation and tooling
Enhance tech hygiene and operational excellence
Drive availability improvements across services
A day in the life
On a "typical" day, you might:
Review dashboards showing developer productivity metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with Principal Engineers to design automation solutions for common operational pain points
Dive deep into data to understand why certain teams struggle with pipeline freshness or code review times
Guide your team through technical design reviews for new productivity tools
Meet with partner teams to understand their pain points and gather requirements
Analyze the adoption and impact of your team's products across the engineering organization
Mentor engineers on technical growth, system design, and operational excellence
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
