The Position

The Opportunity
In this Software Engineer (Full-stack) position, you will report to the Engineering Manager and will be based in Pune, India. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, efficient, and user-friendly applications that push the boundaries of technology. Your work will support Roche’s mission: to do now what patients need next.

Key Roles & Responsibilities


  • Develop large-scale, high-impact architectural and functional components of core products.
  • Collaborate with software architects on application deployment strategies to ensure optimal product stability, performance, security, and scalability on the cloud.
  • Work with QA teams to ensure top-notch functional testing for high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across application development, architecture, and infrastructure to define success criteria and drive automation and performance testing initiatives.
  • Take ownership of continuously improving the quality system, ensuring that quality objectives are met daily.

Who You Are


  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent). A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • You have 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • You have proven experience in a regulated environment (e.g., healthcare, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical industries) and familiarity with Information Security and Computer System Validation (CSV).
  • You have expertise in full-stack product development and are a self-starter and solution-driven innovator.
  • You have proven experience with data warehousing, ETL, and data modeling. Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, DB2, MS SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • You have experience in building enterprise applications with internationalization (i18n), localization (l10n), and accessibility support.
  • You have hands-on experience with Spring, Hibernate, Java, SQL, Rabbit MQ, REST, Tomcat, REACT (web and React Native).
  • You are familiar with AWS services, including Aurora DB in PostgreSQL mode.
  • You have a strong track record of solving performance, scalability, and reliability issues in Linux/Unix or Windows environments.
  • You have a strong understanding of enterprise application architecture and technologies, including databases, web services, and reporting.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and can collaborate effectively with multi-functional, globally distributed teams.
