As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm’s business objectives.


Job responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and operate solutions for a cloud computing platform with integrated security, auditability, and observability.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Define and build value-added services on the platform using cloud-native principles.
  • Create technical designs for development and integration of new software and system technologies.
  • Participate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations by developing tools and automation.
  • Adopt cutting-edge technologies and create best-of-breed solutions by researching and evaluating alternative options.
  • Evangelize and promote adoption of Service Registry within the developer ecosystem and technical community.
  • Support all elements of the Software Development Lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and integration.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with global teams to share ideas, information, and innovation for high-quality software and new product development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience   


  • Relevant years of development experience building and delivering large systems.


  • Exhibit expert-level proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, C++, or Java.
  • Apply hands-on practical experience in public cloud environments (AWS) and Terraform.
  • Write automated tests using languages such as Golang, Python, or shell scripting.
  • Implement system and networking solutions effectively.
  • Utilize git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins for development workflows.
  • Participate in Kubernetes-based deployments and operations.
  • Contribute to Service Registry technology initiatives.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems in systems at scale.
  • Earn a Computer Science degree from a top-tier college.
