Objective of the Role :
Reporting to IS&T Infrastructure Operations Manager, you as a L3 engineer will be to support 80k users worldwide. This role is focused on managing, configuring, and troubleshooting hybrid environments that connect on-premises Exchange servers with Exchange Online (Microsoft 365). The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in Exchange Online, Exchange Server, and hybrid configurations, ensuring seamless integration, high availability, and secure email communication.

Main Responsibilities :
- Exchange Online and On-Premises Integration:
- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid Exchange environments, ensuring optimal integration between on-premises Exchange Servers and Exchange Online (Microsoft 365).
- Manage and troubleshoot mail flow between on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Migration and Upgrades:
- Lead and execute mailbox migrations from on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Plan, test, and implement version upgrades, patches, and security updates to Exchange Server and Exchange Online environments.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage security best practices in a hybrid Exchange environment, including encryption, authentication protocols, CA Policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA) etc.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies, handling eDiscovery, retention policies, and data loss prevention (DLP) configurations.
- Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor Exchange hybrid environments, identifying and resolving performance issues, email routing problems, and connectivity challenges.
- Proactively optimize hybrid configurations to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Exchange-related issues, working with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex problems.
- Lead P1/ P2 calls, work on root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for service disruptions and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
- Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with network, security, and IT operations teams to maintain seamless integrations between Exchange and other Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Exchange Online and hybrid configurations, mentoring junior team members.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of the hybrid environment, including architecture diagrams, migration plans, and security configurations.
- Generate reports on system health, performance metrics, and compliance status for management review.
Educational Requirements:
- Graduated B.E, B-Tech,
- Experience of 9-12 years supporting Office 365, Exchange Online, Exchange on-premise and other Office 365 services
Competencies and Skills
Technical :
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Licensing, Exchange Online and Exchange On-premise, Outlook client connectivity, Calendaring, Mail flow issues, Office Proplus.
- Good knowledge of Anti-Spam, Exchange Online Protection (EOP), PowerShell Scripting.
- Must have knowledge of email Archiving, Data Loss Protection (DLP), eDiscovery, and Retention Policies and Retention Tags, Litigation hold.
- Must have knowledge of O365 Admin Center and know how to utilize it to support, administer, and troubleshoot O365 issues.
- Knowledge about other Office 365 services like SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, ADFS, Directory Synchronization, Azure Active Directory, Rights Management Services (RMS), Power BI, Power Query, Microsoft Azure cloud platform, and TCP/IP and LAN / WAN networking.
