Provide strategic leadership and end-to-end management of large-scale solar power projects, ensuring timely execution, cost control, quality excellence, and strict compliance with safety and statutory requirements across all construction activities.
Lead and oversee the complete execution of civil, structural, and infrastructure works for utility-scale solar projects, including foundations, roads, drainage systems, control rooms, inverter stations, and other balance-of-plant (BoP) works.
Establish construction methodologies, sequencing, and execution strategies to optimize productivity and minimize risks.
Ensure construction activities align with approved engineering designs, project specifications, and best industry practices.
Provide on-ground leadership to site teams, construction managers, and engineers across multiple work fronts.
Review and approve construction schedules, micro-plans, and resource deployment plans in coordination with planning and project control teams.
Monitor progress against baseline schedules and budgets; proactively identify delays, cost overruns, and mitigation strategies.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve project milestones.
Act as the primary interface with clients, consultants, EPC partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders for all construction-related matters.
Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration of works.
Lead project review meetings and provide clear direction to resolve execution challenges.
Establish and enforce robust quality management systems to ensure all construction works meet contractual specifications, codes, and standards.
Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and technical submissions.
Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances (NCRs) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Provide technical guidance on complex construction issues and value engineering opportunities.
Champion a strong safety culture across project sites, ensuring zero-harm objectives are achieved.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, and environmental norms.
Review safety plans, conduct periodic audits, and lead investigations of any incidents or near-misses.
Oversee procurement planning and coordination to ensure timely availability of critical construction materials and equipment.
Evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance; ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Approve material usage, reconciliation, and wastage control measures.
Identify construction-related risks at early stages and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead resolution of major site issues such as design conflicts, constructability challenges, resource constraints, and external dependencies.
Support claims management, change orders, and commercial negotiations related to construction scope.
Review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports for management and client review.
Ensure accurate documentation for audits, handovers, and project close-out activities.
Provide strategic inputs to senior management on project performance and lessons learned.
Coordinate with local authorities, statutory bodies, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Ensure compliance with environmental clearances, local bylaws, and project-specific statutory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
20–25 years of progressive experience in construction management, with significant exposure to large-scale solar power / renewable energy EPC projects.
Proven experience managing multi-location sites and high-value EPC contracts.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Expertise in construction planning, execution, and risk management.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Deep understanding of solar project BoP works and utility-scale construction challenges.
