  • Establish construction methodologies, sequencing, and execution strategies to optimize productivity and minimize risks.

  • Ensure construction activities align with approved engineering designs, project specifications, and best industry practices.

  • Provide on-ground leadership to site teams, construction managers, and engineers across multiple work fronts.

Planning, Scheduling & Cost Control

Quality Assurance & Technical Governance
  • Establish and enforce robust quality management systems to ensure all construction works meet contractual specifications, codes, and standards.

  • Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and technical submissions.

  • Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances (NCRs) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Provide technical guidance on complex construction issues and value engineering opportunities.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Champion a strong safety culture across project sites, ensuring zero-harm objectives are achieved.

  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, and environmental norms.

  • Review safety plans, conduct periodic audits, and lead investigations of any incidents or near-misses.

Material, Equipment & Vendor Management
  • Oversee procurement planning and coordination to ensure timely availability of critical construction materials and equipment.

  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance; ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

  • Approve material usage, reconciliation, and wastage control measures.

Risk Management & Problem Resolution
  • Identify construction-related risks at early stages and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Lead resolution of major site issues such as design conflicts, constructability challenges, resource constraints, and external dependencies.

  • Support claims management, change orders, and commercial negotiations related to construction scope.

Reporting & Documentation
  • Review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports for management and client review.

  • Ensure accurate documentation for audits, handovers, and project close-out activities.

  • Provide strategic inputs to senior management on project performance and lessons learned.

Regulatory & External Liaison
  • Coordinate with local authorities, statutory bodies, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental clearances, local bylaws, and project-specific statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • 20–25 years of progressive experience in construction management, with significant exposure to large-scale solar power / renewable energy EPC projects.

  • Proven experience managing multi-location sites and high-value EPC contracts.

Core Competencies
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

  • Expertise in construction planning, execution, and risk management.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of solar project BoP works and utility-scale construction challenges.
