This role requires working with product management to define business strategy, requirements and timelines as well as leading cross functional development teams through design, delivery, and management and support. This position involves regular communication with senior management on progress, risks and change control. Ability to manage initiatives cross-time zones and executive presentation skills are essential.
You have knowledge of the following: service-oriented architecture, distributed software, product development, build processes, project management and release models. The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of relevant work experience in technical program management in a software applications environment. An undergraduate degree in software-program management, computer science, or equivalent experience required.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you are expected to work with multiple stakeholders to ensure large, cross-portfolio programs are planned and executed successfully. In some cases you will be the Single-Threaded Leader (STL) for a program, and in others you will be supporting the STL. You will represent your team in cross-organizational forums for critical programs. You will identify, own and scale projects to increase customer value.
A day in the life
In this role you will oversee strategic programs for a key FinAuto team. You will work to define requirements, clarify scope, plan and track delivery. You will be the primary point of contact to provide a holistic view of these cross-cutting programs for our partners teams and leadership by writing crisp and concise program reports. You will actively look out for risks and dependencies and take steps to mitigate them by escalating until it is resolved. You will collaborate with engineers, Software Development Managers (SDM), partner teams and stakeholders and ensure projects are delivered as per schedule with highest quality.
About the team
The team operates a central system tracking billions of dollars in receivables information. We streamline collections process to help Accounting teams collect past due balances owed by customers to Amazon.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
