Supplier Quality Management Engineer- Kalwa, Siemens Energy, Full Time

·The Welding Manager will oversee all welding operations related to the fabrication of transformer tanks. This role involves ensuring high-quality welding, painting practices in tank fabrication, maintaining safety standards.


·Sound knowledge of material standards IS, BS for mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum etc.


·Sound knowledge of welding, fabrication, painting and inspection processes in line with Siemens, Indian,


International standards like ISO 3834, ISO 5817, ISO 8501, ISO 12944, ASME Sec IX, Sec V is a must.


·Perform welding, fitment inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure weld quality as required.NDT Level II (PT, UT, RT, VT) is required.


·Develop and implement quality control measures at tank supplier end.


·Internal / lead auditor for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 in mandatory.


·Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and fabrication in transformer tank fabrication.


·Conduct stage inspections for Transformers/Reactors components onsite at supplier end as per relevant drawings, specifications, checklists, international and local standards along with customers like PGCIL, NPCIL, NTPC, Adani, Tata Power etc.


·Conduct the routine audit at supplier premises as per Siemens guidelines.


·Support global SQM team for audits performed in India at transformer tank suppliers.


·Coordinate ScNCC claims for fabrication related NC and conclude the claims with support from SCM, Operational purchase.


·Recording of the NC and to perform RCA (A3, 8D) for the defects.


·Support and resolve queries raised by supplier during tank fabrication with SCM, OP, Engineering, Order Management colleagues.


·Support & coordinate with manufacturing, site team, In process QA for welding related defect rectification occurred in the transformer tank.


·Maintain QM info records for tank fabrication components.


·Maintain and upkeep documentation for fabrication activities and SQM function.

·Bachelor’s / B-Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering


Technical Skills:


·Expertise in Transformer/Reactor tank fabrication and Quality inspection process


·Expertise in performing audits as per ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 at supplier end.


·Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, handling of Root Cause analysis


·Knowledge of MS office (Advance knowledge of MS EXCEL, WORD)


·Knowledge of safety practices during shopfloor/test field inspection.


Key Skills:


·Required to travel (Around 80%) to various supplier locations for inspections, audits, developments


·Critical thinking & quick analysis based on the problem situation


·Mindset of growth and service to support colleagues and always think win-win


·Proactive, Polite mindset and ability to deal with colleagues, internal and external customers


·Time management and Prioritization Skills


·English fluency in business Communication with stakeholders


·Intercultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-cultural team
