Role: Team Manager OTCLocation: Pune

As a key player of the finance operations role in Smith+Nephew Finance you will be responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient Order to Cash processes as well as for following the designed control metrics as described in the S+N Finance Order to Cash taxonomy in line with the Group Finance Manual requirements.
What you will be doing?
50% Operations:
- E2E responsible for OTC process delivery (from collection to cash allocation)
- Serve as a point of contact for collectors to handle blocking issues when contacting critical customers in relation to outstanding debt.
- Participation in target setting for collections execution and aged debt reduction for the markets in scope.
- Ensuring the timely delivery of key operational metrics.
- Smooth delivery of period end close cash allocation activities.
- Close collaboration with collaborators within the organization.
- Report current status and flag any potential risks to Credit Manager.
- Proactively build customer relationship, continually seek out ways to improve customer satisfaction, communication & query resolution.
- In-depth analysis of the team’s results
- Ensure compliance with QMF
- Ensure compliance with OTC policies and procedures
- Ensure applicable Internal controls are performed and reviewed according to company policies
- Handle the day-to-day workload and tasks along with the team
50% Leadership:
- Acquire staff Inc. recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Administrate team: Workday updates, time tracking
- Support operational queries, employee relation cases, governance via daily huddles and F2F meetings.
- Performance review, development planning, succession planning and backup structure.
- Coach, develop, and mentor employees.
- Manage off boarding for leavers
- Act as a first point of contact for any critical issue or concerns - SPOC for market
- SPOC for other team leaders/managers
- Manager's back-up
- Promote Continuous Improvement culture
- Encourage and support the delivery of Continuous Improvement projects
What do you need to be successful?
- Education: A bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, finance or accounting, or a relatable field is required.
- Should have experience in Order to Cash, Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, etc.
- Prior team handling experience is required!
- Knowledge/understanding of SAP (or MS Axapta), Advanced Excel, and the MS Office suite of tools.
- Able to analyse and resolve operational and process issues through liaison with customers. Proposes solutions within the context of the business by applying technical knowledge to evaluate the associated risks and implications.
- Ability to analyse financial data and draw sound conclusions. Apply standard process and controls to maintain the highest level of financial integrity
Competences:
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and collaborators across the Finance Operations team and the wider business.
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to present financial data and information clearly and concisely to all levels of the business.
- Ability to analyse financial data, draw sound conclusions and propose solutions.
- Excels in fast-paced situations and thrives in dynamic work environments—sets a positive example for colleagues. Demonstrates a high level of integrity to foster an open dialogue with the team.
- Implements effective questioning, communication, and influencing skills to share insights, inspire collaborators, and encourage a culture of continuous improvement. Accepts challenge and productively manages conflict in high-pressure situations.
