This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 2 years Location: Pune JobType: full-time We are looking for a skilled Technical Support Engineer to install, commission, support, and maintain robotic and automation systems at customer sites.
The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, remote technical support, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and service robotic and automation systems at customer locations.
Provide remote technical support to customers for troubleshooting and issue resolution via phone, email, and remote access tools.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related faults in robotic systems.
Troubleshoot robot controllers, drives, sensors, motors, and other system peripherals.
Support robot software updates, system testing, validation, and performance optimization.
Conduct system testing, safety checks, and compliance validation as per standards.
Respond to breakdown calls and minimize downtime through effective root cause analysis and resolution.
Train customers on robot operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting reports.
Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action documentation.
Coordinate with internal engineering and support teams for complex issue resolution.
Travel to customer sites as required to support installations and service activities.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
1–5 years of experience in technical support, field service, robotics, or industrial automation.
Strong understanding of robotic systems and automation technologies.
Knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, drives, and industrial sensors.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Hands-on experience in system troubleshooting and maintenance.
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Ability to deliver effective on-site and remote technical support.
Willingness to travel and work in customer-facing, field-based environments.
Strong communication, documentation, and customer-handling skills.
Good to Have Experience with robotics or industrial automation systems (AGVs / AMRs preferred).
Hardware troubleshooting experience in automation environments.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus.
Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python or robot-specific languages).
Experience using CMMS tools or maintaining digital service records.
Valid Schengen visa.
