Requirements:


  • Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s degree in transport planning / economics).
  • Working experience (4+ years) in Transport Planning softwares like VISUM, SATURN, DIADEM, EMME, VISSIM, LINSIG, JUNCTIONS9, Paramics, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, TUBA, COBA-LT and AMAT assessment.
  • Experience and knowledge of Strategic Modelling, Operational Modelling, transport / economic appraisal techniques and guidance including economic cost-benefit analysis.
  • Knowledge of the technical transport planning environment.
  • Strong numerate and analytical abilities, including high degree of competence in MS Excel
  • Ability to work in a team as part of a wider project.
  • Some understanding of how appraisal and business case requirements should match client needs and support scheme development.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Be able to work Individually.
  • Be able to guide/mentor the junior staff.

Additional Requirements:


  • Be highly self-motivated and ambitious.
  • Be able to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers.
  • Be able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Some experience in the application of financial and commercial appraisal techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience of UK appraisal and business case guidance and approaches.
  • Experience in the use of analytical and research tools such as GIS and the use of databases.
  • An appreciation of the transport industry and related policy context.
  • Professional membership of a relevant institution.
  • Experience in programming skills like Python, PowerBI, Excel-VBA and R.
