About the job Junior HSE Engineer Junior HSE Engineer (Third Party Contractor) Jakarta, Indonesia


Role Purpose:


The Jr. HSE Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Safety Occupational Health Industrial Hygiene (SOHIH) Engineer and HSSE staff by monitoring, updating, and organizing HSSE performance data, KPIs, training, accident and incident tracking, and hazard observation administration.


The position also handles administration related to provisional HSSE contract services and supplies, as well as supporting the SOHIH Engineer in action tracking.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Collect, compile, update, and analyze HSSE performance data and KPIs, including man‑hours, training hours, incidents, and hazard/STOP observation cards.
  • Prepare and maintain periodic HSSE reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) for business units and regional reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support HSSE action tracking, including monitoring action status, coordinating follow‑ups, and issuing reminders to action owners.
  • Coordinate and administer HSSE training programs, including preparation of the annual HSSE training calendar, liaison with training providers, and coordination of mandatory training records with HR.
  • Support the implementation and administration of behavior‑based safety programs, including STOP Card campaigns, safety awareness initiatives, and HSSE culture activities.
  • Assist in the administration and monitoring of HSSE contracts, including requisition preparation, contract tracking, invoice coordination, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of contractor HSSE management systems, including inductions, audits, performance tracking, and corrective action follow‑up.
  • Coordinate HSSE incident and safety observation documentation, including data collection, document control, and database upkeep.
  • Monitor and support PPE needs assessment, ordering, distribution, and availability for employees and contractors.
  • Support the deployment, administration, and data management of the HSE Management System (IMS) across business units.
  • Assist in the implementation of occupational health and industrial hygiene (OHIH) programs, including health risk registers, monitoring activities, and related procedures.
  • Comply with all company HSSE policies, standards, and procedures, actively participating in HSSE initiatives and promoting a safe and environmentally responsible work culture.
    

Qualifications include but are not limited to the following:


Education:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline.

Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene roles (experience requirement may vary based on competency assessment).
  • Exposure to HSSE data reporting, contractor coordination, and training administration is an advantage.

Skills:


  • Basic knowledge of HSSE management principles and frameworks.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and HSSE data/reporting tools.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
