Civil Engineer

Job purpose

A reliable Civil Lead is required for the civil works of 400 kV GIS/AIS substation in Iraq-South of Baghdad. Outline for this job is to plan construction project and oversee the progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The candidate will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the site activities.

Duties and responsibilities

• Oversee and direct construction for the project activities from start to completion.

• Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

• Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors

• Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.

• Meet contractual conditions of performance.

• Review the work progress on daily basis.

• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.

• Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience in construction management and preferably in Power Plants project

• Ability to work on Fast Track Project

• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards

• Ability to plan and see the overall project picture.

• Leadership and human resources management skills

• Project management skills is preferable.

• BS degree or higher in Civil Engineering
