Provide technical supervision and inspection for the construction of 132 kV OHTL works, ensuring full compliance with approved IFC documents and Ministry of Electricity (MoE) specifications; uphold HSE and quality standards; document progress; issue weekly reports; and sign off on site milestones.
Pension Plan Paid Time Off Training & Development Field supervision of all 132 kV OHTL construction activities: foundations, tower steel erection, earthing, conductor/OPGW stringing, concrete works, and mechanical protections.
Conformance verification against IFC drawings, BoQs, approved Method Statements, ITPs, WIRs, and MoE specifications.
Material verification: review and acceptance of materials, vendor submittals, and compliance certificates prior to installation.
Daily coordination with the EPC contractor, Owner’s Engineer, Client representatives, and HSE/QA teams.
Reporting: issue a weekly progress report with photos, quantities, earned progress, risk logs, and next-week look-ahead.
Milestone control: sign off and document achieved site milestones and stage completions.
Quality management: raise and close NCRs; oversee corrective/preventive actions within agreed timeframes.
HSE leadership: enforce PTW/LOTO, JSA/HIRA and site safety rules; report and follow up near-misses and incidents.
Testing & inspections: witness/verify sag & tension, earthing resistance, fittings/accessories checks; support FAT/SAT and T&C as required.
Interface management with associated 132 kV substations (if applicable), including outage/energization planning and tie-in activities.
Document control: maintain daily inspection logs, manpower/equipment records, hold/witness points, and meeting minutes.
Turnover readiness: prepare punch lists and track closures toward PAC/initial acceptance.
Qualifications B.
Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical accepted with proven OHTL experience).
8+ years in construction and inspection of 132 kV (or higher) overhead transmission lines.
Desirable: experience in 132 kV substation construction.
Proven track record in the Middle East , preferably Iraq .
Languages: English required (spoken and written for reporting); Arabic preferred .
Familiarity with relevant codes/standards (Iraqi MoE specs; IEC/IEEE; ACI/ASTM for concrete as applicable).
Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), technical drawing reading, AutoCAD; familiarity with MS Project/Primavera and basic GIS/Google Earth for line routing is an advantage.
Strong communication, time management, and technical report-writing skills.
