Key Objectives:


Accountability


  • To assist the ER Lead in addressing firefighting and fire prevention concerns in every way and improve conditions.
  • To ensure the efficient execution of firefighting activities at the site to meet the schedule, under the direction of the ER Lead.
  • To be subject to audits on reports for concerned organizations and lenders, supporting the documentation provided by the ER Lead.

Responsibilities


  • To support the Emergency Preparedness and Response Section Head and the ER Lead in their responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating firefighting and rescue programs to reduce or eliminate fire incidents, injuries, deaths, and financial losses.
  • To provide first-line supervision to activities within the area and ensure that manpower requirements and personnel competencies are met, providing input and recommendations to the ER Lead regarding career or organization changes to achieve effective firefighting and fire prevention activities.
  • To assist the ER Lead in managing, guiding, directing, and motivating subordinates, including the setting and monitoring of performance standards and assessing training needs in association with the Human Resources Department.
  • To provide dedicated support to the ER Lead on all matters relating to firefighting & fire prevention.
  • To support the ER Lead in providing and managing an efficient integrated auditing system, aimed at ensuring adherence to company policy, as well as to continuously identify possible system and performance improvements.
  • To assist the ER Lead in developing departmental objectives, policies, strategies, and procedures.
  • To support the ER Lead in assessing the qualifying of outside service providers, consultants, and contractors to ensure competence and compliance with the requirements.
  • To Assist in the planning & execution of FF exercises in each unit based on Firefighting Plans during Commissioning & Initial SU & Operation.
  • Strong support and delegation skills including the ability to effectively carry out delegated command responsibilities at the scene of a fire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and English, both orally and in writing.
  • Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports.
  • Effective public relations and public speaking skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Decision making skills, especially in immediate tactical situations.
  • Good negotiations skills and ability to deal effectively with people in difficult situations.
  • Ability to comprehend and complete tasks based on verbal and written objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure situations and manage stress.
  • Time management skills.

Expected:


  • Minimum of 08 years of extensive experience in firefighting work of a progressively responsible nature, serving at least 03 years as a Fire chief 
  • Completion of Firefighting Training, Incident Command, Completion of Hazardous Materials First Responder, CPR, Basic 1st Aid & AED Certified or equivalent training, Fire Extinguishers – SCBA – rescue equipment operation and maintenance training.
  • Must have computer skills, including Microsoft office products
  • Demonstrate clear understanding and compliance with business controls requirements
  • Report all business control deviations immediately to supervisor
  • Formal Safety and Health Qualifications preferred
  • Basic knowledge and background in environmental management
