Responsibilities:
  • A member of the Production Chemistry team reporting to the Production Chemist Team Lead.
  • The position is based in the Contractor Camp, with daily site visits to support field operations teams in South Rumaila.
  • The role will support production chemistry related activities in South Rumaila degassing stations and associated facilities.
  • The role will include trouble shooting at the degassing stations and working with various teams to ensure crude quality, gas export quality, PW quality and laboratory analysis.
  • Input into produced water clarification, corrosion, and scale impacts and treatments is required.
  • Review and support to laboratory analysis in various water analysis locations, so experience in water lab chemistry is essential.
  • Running, monitoring, and optimisation of laboratory tests and field trials.
  • Data analysis and interpretation on trials and operational data.
  • Quality Control inspections of chemicals from suppliers.
  • Equivalent to degree qualification in Chemistry or related discipline from a relevant internationally recognised institution.
  • Individual must be qualified in oil and gas separation, flow assurance, corrosion mitigation, foam suppression, biological controls and monitoring, PW treatment, as well as related laboratory analysis and management.
  • As a member of ROO Operations, the role is expected to embrace and adopt the ROO Code of Conduct (CoC), safety leadership principles and uphold the values of ROO. 
  • Strong communications skills in English language are required.

  • Input to Operations meetings – daily and ad-hoc
  • Input to Production Chemistry Threats
  • Input to Sampling Program
  • Input into Crude Quality Plan
  • Coaching / mentoring Crude Quality Team
  • Support the Production Chemistry Team to resolve plant technical issues, process improvements, operability improvements and troubleshooting

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 10 + years of relevant field experience with an average of 15 years with a minimum of 5 years of experience with same type of position.
