Job Objectives:

The Data Engineer is responsible for building and optimizing scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and business insights. This role designs, manages, and monitors ETL pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses, while ensuring high data quality and governance across platforms. Working cross-functionally, the Data Engineer enables the organization to harness data efficiently, securely, and at scale.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines

· Develop and optimize data models for analytics and reporting

· Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across systems

· Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources

· Optimize database performance and query efficiency

· Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support ML and BI use cases

· Implement data security, governance, and best practices

· Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data workflows

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a

related field.

Years of Experience:

3 - 5 years in data engineering or related fields

Technical Requirements:

· Strong experience with SQL and relational databases

· Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java

· Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake)

· Hands-on experience with ETL tools or frameworks (Airflow, dbt, Spark, etc.)

· Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

· Understanding of data modeling and data architecture principles

Competencies / Behavioral Requirements:

· Analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to clean, maintainable code.

· Strong ownership mentality and a collaborative work ethic.

· Able to adapt to shifting priorities and technical challenges.

Nice to Have:

· Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop)

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows

· Experience supporting machine learning pipelines

· Knowledge of data visualization or BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
