We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commis I – Cold Kitchen to support daily operations within a professional four- or five-star hotel environment. This role is ideal for a culinary professional with solid experience in cold kitchen preparation who is ready to take on increased responsibility while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.

As Commis I – Cold Kitchen, you will play a key role in the preparation and presentation of cold kitchen items, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in line with hotel and brand standards.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Preparing cold kitchen items such as salads, cold appetizers, dressings, canapés, and garnishes according to approved recipes.
  • Supporting mise en place and ensuring readiness for service across buffet, à la carte, and banquet operations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of cold platters and buffet displays.
  • Ensuring consistent portion control, quality, and visual presentation.
  • Maintaining strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Ensuring proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO practices.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and cold storage areas.
  • Assisting senior chefs during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Minimizing food wastage and supporting cost-control initiatives.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

What we are looking for:


  • Proven experience as a Commis I or Senior Commis Chef – Cold Kitchen, preferably in a four- or five-star hotel.
  • Strong understanding of cold kitchen techniques, plating, and presentation.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen discipline.
  • Ability to work with precision in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic language will be an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Culinary or hospitality qualifications will be an advantage.
