Job Title: Math TutorDepartment: Student Success Center – Student Affairs Reports To: Student Success Director


PositionOverview


The MathTutor will provide academic support to students in mathematics and engineering-related subjects through one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. The role includes planning, organizing, and delivering review sessions and workshops, ensuring a conducive learning environment, and contributing to student success initiatives through promotion, data tracking, and coordination with faculty and external experts.


Key Responsibilities


  • Tutoring and Student Support
  • Conduct 1:1 and group tutoring sessions for all math and engineering-related subjects.
  • Ensure all necessary materials and resources are prepared and accessibleforstudents.
  • Monitor student engagement and progress during sessions, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Address student questions and academic inquiries in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Workshop Planning and Coordination
  • Plan and schedule semester workshops for math and engineering subjects.
  • Create workshop content, including study materials and review frameworks.
  • Collaborate with faculty or external experts for workshop delivery, when applicable and approved.
  • Prepare workshop proposals and After-Action Reports (AARs) to document outcomes.
  • Center Oversight and Operations
  • Ensure the tutoring center is accessible and welcoming according to the schedule.
  • Maintain a productive and orderly study environment, including enforcing rules and cleanliness.
  • Manage stationery and other resources to support smooth operations.
  • Oversee faculty and student attendance protocols.
  • Assist SSC staff with OSEP tutor training
  • Data Collection and Reporting
  • Track attendance and participation in tutoring sessions and workshops.
  • Collect and analyze student feedback to improve tutoring services.
  • Promotion and Outreach
  • Promote tutoring services and workshops through classroom visits, events, and collaboration with marketing.
  • Support initiatives that increase student engagement with tutoring and academic support programs.
