About the job:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Restaurant Manager - Italian Speaker role to join the F&B team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach, Kuwait.


Your main duties will include:


Staff Management and Development:


  • Hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining outlet staff.
  • Preparing schedules and managing overtime.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and recommending promotions, salary adjustments, or dismissals.
  • Developing colleagues for future roles.

Guest Relations:


  • Maintaining a friendly, unobtrusive manner with guests.
  • Handling guest complaints or concerns and promoting good public relations.
  • Recognizing and addressing disruptive or undesirable guests.

Operational Oversight:


  • Ensuring consistent service techniques are followed.
  • Managing reservations and seating.
  • Ensuring the correct supply of materials and controlling food and beverage usage.
  • Overseeing the physical condition of facilities and equipment, recommending improvements.
  • Supervising public areas and restrooms.
  • Managing inventories related to the outlet's operations.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Coordinating with other departments for team support.
  • Communicating with chefs and food & beverage teams about menus, marketing strategies, and guest feedback.
  • Participating in required meetings and promoting teamwork.

Financial and Operational Control:


  • Forecasting covers and revenues, scheduling accordingly.
  • Managing expenses to ensure higher revenue and profit.
  • Familiarity with profit and loss statements, food and beverage cost calculations, and departmental budgeting.

Safety and Compliance:


  • Ensure a safe working environment and handle accidents properly.
  • Responding to hotel emergencies or safety situations.
  • Maintaining standards related to conduct, appearance, sanitation, etc.

Special Events and Promotions:


  • Planning and executing special events (e.g., Ramadan, Eid).
  • Implementing merchandising strategies that align with the hotel's profile.

Technology and Systems:


  • Using the POS system for check handling, reports, and other operational needs.

Human Resources Knowledge:


  • Being well-versed in HR processes such as interviewing, evaluating, disciplining, and termination.

Qualifications:


About you:


  • Minimum of two years of managerial experience in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Fluency in both Italian and English.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, customer service orientation, and proficiency in computer applications.
