Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of project management principles, enabling them to efficiently plan, execute, and oversee various engineering projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project schedules and resource plans while identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software to ensure timely completion of engineering projects.
2. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations.
3. Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
4. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines and budgets, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
5. Coordinate with various departments to ensure resource availability and allocation aligns with project requirements.
6. Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
7. Utilize earned value management techniques to analyze project performance and forecast future performance trends.
8. Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bid documents, ensuring all technical requirements are accurately captured.
9. Participate in project meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis and project metrics.
10. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization within project planning and execution.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar role within the electrical construction company.
2. Should have experience in Substation, Overhead Transmission Line & Under Ground Projects.
3. Membership with Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) is must.
4. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
6. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with team members and clients.
11. A commitment to safety and environmental standards in engineering practices.
12. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) are a plus.
